Since 1791, we have maintained responsibility for the General Stud Book, the only verified record of Thoroughbreds in Great Britain and Ireland. It has remained in our care ever since.
Today, our role in maintaining these records involves our team registering every foal, mating, movement and death of every Thoroughbred across Great Britain and Ireland. In addition, we issue and maintain passports and microchips for all Thoroughbreds, ensuring the utmost levels of integrity to preserve the breed.
Our team tracks every stage of the Thoroughbred lifecycle and we administer the vital functions which ensure traceability of the Thoroughbred. We register every foal, broodmare and stallion based in the United Kingdom and Ireland, plus process changes of ownerships, imports and exports and DEFRA applications.
We have the largest online racing and breeding database in Europe and from this we supply pedigree data to many major European Thoroughbred auction houses. We provide data in a range of different formats, from statistical breakdowns to bespoke data feeds which enables real-time updates for use across a range of platforms.
