2025 Stallion Book Snippets - Calyx
Calyx covered 273 mares at Coolmore in 2024, more than any other Flat sire.
Breeders poured into the Coventry Stakes-winning son of Kingman after the fine start he made with his first two-year-olds last year, who included Group 2 winners Classic Flower and Persian Dreamer, Norfolk Stakes runner-up Malc and Dewhurst Stakes third Eben Shaddad.
Calyx justified that strong support by supplying 55 winners at an outstanding strike-rate of 56% in Europe this season, when his best performers were Bosra Sham Stakes winner It Ain’t Two, Irish Oaks third Purple Lily and Del Mar Oaks third Zona Verde.
He has more exciting three-year-old prospects for 2025, including dual Wolverhampton novice stakes winner Good Banter and nine and a half-length Newbury novice stakes scorer Stem.
Calyx will stand at Coolmore at a fee of €12,500 next year.
