The son of Starspangledbanner achieved that feat when he took the Saratoga Derby, Cox Plate and then the Prix Ganay in 2021 and 2022. He later added the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot to his CV, too.

He retired to Rathbarry Stud last year, when he covered 115 mares including 27 black-type performers, including Sun Chariot Stakes heroine Spinning Queen and the dams of Group/Grade 1 winners Deep Brillante and Starlust.

The resultant foals were well received at the sales this winter, making €58,000, 45,000gns, €40,000 etc. 

State Of Rest will stand at Rathbarry Stud next year at a fee of €20,000.
